Spread is a percentage of the instrument's price, applied half to the bid and half to the ask. Commission is charged once, when the position opens.
Margin & leverage
Margin is the slice of your balance locked to open a position — position value ÷ leverage. A $10,000 EUR/USD trade at 1:100 uses just $100 of margin, freed the instant you close.
Commission
For Forex, a fixed amount per standard lot. For everything else, a percentage of the position's value — so the same trade costs the same share of it whether the price is $0.30 or $100,000. Charged once when you open a position; closing is free.
Swap
A daily financing fee on positions still open at 21:00 UTC, calculated on the margin used. Long and short have separate rates, both shown above — where a rate is negative, that side is credited instead of charged. Positions opened and closed the same day pay nothing.
Trade size, in units
1 unit is 1 share, 1 coin, or 1 contract. Forex is the exception — size is scaled in thousands of the base currency, with a 1,000-unit minimum and step.
